Boss Type

Boss Type Couplings are an all-purpose hose coupling available in Plated Iron/Steel, Stainless Steel & Brass in either BSPT or NPT threads. They are universally recommended for steam hose connections, however, they see extensive use as air, water, fluid petroleum and chemical transfer couplings. The spud part of the coupling serves as one half of the boss ground joint connection and is usually fixed to the equipment. The stem part that is clamped into the hose is the other half. The two halves are connected or disconnected by rotating the wing nut on to the spud. When the metal head of the stem makes contact with the patented polymer seat in the spud they achieve both a mechanical and a pressure leak proof seal.
