EPDM is most well known for its' outstanding ability to resist the elements. It is extremely resistant to UV light, Ozone, water, steam, heat, and changes in temperatures over long periods of time. Most flat roofs are covered with EPDM sheeting or and EPDM based roof sealant. This material has little to no resistance to hydrocarbons such as oil, kerosine, petrolium and holgenated solvents such as paint thinners, brake cleaner, freon (and other CFCs) and leaded gasoline.
