Rubber Electrical Safety Matting

This is a ribbed electrical matting with a maximum safe working voltage of 1,000 volts, fully tested up to 10,000 volts. This brand is coded RED as per the IEC 61111:2009 guidelines CLASS 'O' - RED. The design consists of an anti-slip fine fluted pattern on one side and a cloth impression on the reverse for reduced slip hazards.

BS EN 61111:2099 vs BS 921:1976

BS 921:1976 was withdrawn because it conflicts with the current UK national standard of electrical matting, BS EN 61111:2009. Under the auspices of BS EN 61111:2009, the matting must withstand greatly extended testing regimes compared to the old, outdated BS 921:1976 standard. Compliance with BS EN 61111:2009 means that the matting will have a number of benefits over the BS 921: 1976 variety: it is oil and acid resistant; flame retardant; lighter in weight; and there are now various classes for different voltage applications. It is believed that matting manufactured to the superseded BS 921: 1976 regulation is still available, as it is suitable for its originally intended use in the UK. Now, however, it is known as ‘Electrical Safety Matting’ tested to 650V working insulation.
