Polyurethane Foam
Polyurethane (PU) foam has an open cell structure and can be supplied in a range of densities and colours either as plain foam or with a self adhesive backing. Polyurethane foam is one of most commonly used polymers across the world. In 2020, nearly 24 million metric tons of Polyurethane was used worldwide, predicted to rise to almost 28 million tons by 2026. Some applications for Polyurethane foam include: car seats; upholstered furniture; mattresses; carpet underlay; and kitchen sponges but it is also commonly used as: gaskets; sealing strips; packing; filters; and sound proofing. It is particularly beneficial in applications where flame retardant properties are of high importance.
